It’s December now, the year is almost over. I’m not sure how that happened, I thought it just started a few months ago. Anyway here’s what I plan on reading this week!
I’m currently reading The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye
I’m a little over 150 pages at the time of writing this, and I’m really enjoying it. I really love Pasha (he’s my favorite), and Yuliana annoys me. It takes place in Russia which is fun, I don’t think I’ve read a book that takes place in Russia before now.
If I manage to finish that this week I’ll move on to Between Shades of Grey by Ruta Sepetys
I have to read a historical fiction book for school so I chose this one. It takes place in Russia (this month is just full of Russia for me) during WWII. I really enjoy reading about WWII and I’ve never read, or really learned much about, the Russian perspective. All I know is that Russia was involved and Germany invaded and I’m sure I know a few other things that I just can’t think of at the moment.
That’s pretty much it for my reading plans this week. Fantasy books typically take me longer to read and I haven’t read historical fiction since The Book Thief so I’m not sure how long Between Shades of Grey will take. It’ll all depend on how many times I have to put it down due to depressed feelings. WWII wasn’t exactly the most fun moment in history. Question: What is your favorite time period to read about?
Thank you for reading and I will see you guys next time. Bye!!!
If you want a Russian perspective of a different time period than WWII, there’s always War and Peace.
My favorite time period to read about is the French Revolution and WWII by European authors.
